The year 2023 was a big year for the group NewJeans.
According to CircleChart's latest album sales review, the group's albums have sold a total of 4,390,919 copies from January 1 to the 16th of this month. Among K-pop female artists, NewJeans' cumulative sales in 2023 ranked first with 15.4%.
This achievement was accomplished with three albums. NewJeans debut album "New Jeans," released last August, their single "OMG," released this January, and their second EP "Get Up," released in July, all achieved million-seller status. In particular, "Get Up" is on the verge of becoming a "double million seller," having sold more than 1.9 million copies by last month.
NewJeans has already shown a strong presence in the music charts. Throughout the first quarter of this year, their songs "Ditto," "OMG," and "Hype Boy" took the top three spots on major Korean music charts, and in the second half of the year, they hit the domestic and international charts with "Super Shy" and "ETA". NewJeans's songs, which are equally loved regardless of whether they are new or old, are still on the top of the charts to this day.
Based on these achievements, NewJeans swept the grand prizes at major Korean year-end awards shows such as the 2023 MAMA Awards, MMA2023, and the 2023 AAA Awards, and was honored as the first K-pop girl group to win an award at the Billboard Music Awards, one of the top three music awards in the United States.
Meanwhile, NewJeans will appear on TBS's "Japan Record Awards" in Japan on the 30th and on ABC's "Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve with Ryan Seacrest 2024" in the US on the 31st.
