TWICE will be the first K-pop girl group to enter Nissan Stadium in Japan.
TWICE held their fifth world tour "TWICE 5TH WORLD TOUR 'READY TO BE'" at the PayPay Dome in Fukuoka, Japan on the 27th and 28th of this month. With the enthusiastic shouts and support of local fans, the group successfully completed the last solo concert of the world tour in 2023.
In particular, since May this year, TWICE has mobilized 370,000 people in four regional concerts in Japan alone, including Osaka Yanmar Stadium Nagai, Tokyo Ajinomoto Stadium, Nagoya Banterin Dome Nagoya, and Fukuoka PayPay Dome.
In addition, at the end of the Fukuoka PayPay Dome concert on the 28th, a surprise announcement was made that the group will hold an additional concert in Japan in July 2024 called "READY TO BE in JAPAN SPECIAL" and release their fifth album locally, much to the delight of local fans.
Accordingly, TWICE is set to perform at Yanmar Stadium Nagai on July 13th-14th and at Nissan Stadium in Kanagawa on July 27th-28th. They are expected to set a new record by entering Nissan Stadium, the largest concert venue in Japan, making them the first K-pop girl group and the second K-pop artist after TVXQ to achieve this feat. Furthermore, through the additional local performances, they solidify their status as "Stadium Artists."
TWICE set a number of firsts this year with their fifth world tour, "TWICE 5TH WORLD TOUR 'READY TO BE'," which was the largest ever. They became the first K-pop girl group to enter Japan's Osaka Yanmar Stadium Nagai and Tokyo Ajinomoto Stadium, and in June and July, they became the first girl group in the world to enter and sell out LA Sofi Stadium in Los Angeles and MetLife Stadium in New York. In November, they became the first K-pop group to perform at Marvel Stadium in Melbourne, Australia, and on December 23, they performed at Jakarta International Stadium in Jakarta, Indonesia, solidifying their fame.
Keeping the momentum going, TWICE will continue their world tour in 2024 at Foro Sol in Mexico City, Mexico in February, Allianz Parque in São Paulo, Brazil, Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, USA in March, and Osaka Yanmar Stadium Nagai and Kanagawa Nissan Stadium in Japan in July, and continue to grow in global popularity. K-pop fans around the world are looking forward to TWICE's new year's activities on the global stage after confirming large-scale stadium dancecons in 10 regions around the world.
Meanwhile, TWICE will release their first single "I GOT YOU" on February 2, 2024 at 2 p.m. KST (0 p.m. ET) to ignite their popularity.
Prior to this, TWICE's first unit group, MISAMO, comprised of Mina, Sana, and Momo, will appear on NHK's "Red White and Blue", Japan's leading year-end special broadcast aired every December 31, to perform the title track of their local debut album, "Do not touch", and end 2023 with a bang.
